Palms Casino Resort Expands Culinary Offerings With New Concept XISHI From The ONE GROUP
Venture Marks Resort’s Second Partnership with New York-Based Hospitality Company
Currently underway with the first phase of a property-wide transformation, most recently announces the addition of XISHI, a pan-Asian restaurant, to its evolving dining landscape. XISHI, (pronounced “zai-she”), is a nod to the feminine pronoun “she,” and will offer traditional and contemporary Asian dishes in a modern vibe-driven space with a feminine twist. The ONE Group, known for its high-energy concepts, is expected to open the venue in December 2012 in the space currently occupied by Little Buddha.
“We are extremely excited to offer Palms’ guests another sexy, high-energy dining venue from The ONE Group,” said Joseph A. Magliarditi, President of Palms Casino Resort “From our new rooms, new dining venues and the updated and reconfigured casino, XISHI will be just one of many reasons to visit the resort.”
The new venue, located next to The ONE Group’s recently announced sports restaurant and lounge, Heraea, will be nestled between both the casino floor and the Palms Pool & Bungalows, just steps away from the resort’s world-famous nightlife venues. XISHI will offer guests a complete dining experience in a high-energy environment, or the option for a quick bite early or late into the evening. XISHI’s appealing design aesthetic will be centered around a chic lounge bar with beats coming from a deejay spinning nightly.
“We are proud to partner with the Palms Casino Resort on another project. We’ve had the idea for this concept in development for some time and think Palms will be the perfect location for it, given the major re-investment currently taking place at the hotel,” said Jonathan Segal, CEO of The ONE Group

Palms Begins Multi-Million Dollar Transformation with Sleek Redesigned Rooms, Delicious Restaurant Concepts and Innovative Nightlife Experiences
Palms Casino Resort is investing $50 million in the first phase of a transformation that will renovate and re-energize the property that launched a Las Vegas celebrity revolution. The transformation, beginning this summer, will encompass a lavish Palms Tower room and suite redesign, appealing new culinary options, re-imagined gaming spaces and new, distinctive nightlife experiences.
“Palms is changing in a major way and will push the boundaries of the ultimate Las Vegas experience,” said Joseph A. Magliarditi, president of the Palms. “From our rooms to our restaurants to our casino floor, guests can look forward to a new and exciting atmosphere combined with the same commitment to customer service they have come to expect.”
Beginning in July, all 428 rooms and suites in the Palms Tower will be remodeled in an ultra-chic and modern style. Designed by Klai Juba, the sophisticated rooms will feature horizontal lines, warm wood tones and vibrant luxe velvets. Each sleek space will highlight custom artwork that complements the overall atmosphere. The mood will be sensual and edgy while staying true to function and user friendliness. The first redesigned rooms are expected to be available to book by September.
In addition to the updated rooms, the entire casino layout will also be reconfigured to maximize flow and ambiance. Changes will include over 250 new slot machines and design upgrades. The property’s Center Bar will be remodeled later this year for a striking anchor on the casino floor.
The dining landscape at Palms is evolving to offer new selections that will add to the already celebrated Simon Restaurant & Lounge, N9NE Steakhouse and Nove Italiano. The first piece of the new dining puzzle, Heraea, a sports-themed restaurant and lounge, opens for guests by year end. The new venue will take over the space currently occupied by Garduño’s, and will offer upscale food, state-of-the-art sports viewing and energetic music in a modern space. Heraea is the brainchild of The ONE Group that is known for its high-energy dining venues. In addition Palms will be expanding its food offerings in the Bistro Buffet as well as adding two new outlets to the The Eatery.
The property renovations will also elevate the Palms signature nightlife outlets. The property’s longstanding relationship with the N9NE Group continues with exciting transformations to be announced shortly.
These changes come on the heels of the May 4 opening of the newly refurbished Cantor Gaming® race and sports book and TONIC sports bar. One of the few sports books in Las Vegas to include a poker room, the multi-million dollar refurbishment project spans 9,840 square feet and offers the latest in technological advancements and convenience.
Renovations begin in July and will continue in stages through the end of 2012 with an aim to have the projects completed in time to ring in 2013.
Earl of Sandwich to Open in the Palms Casino Resort This Summer
Earl of Sandwich, created by the direct descendent of John Montagu, the Earl who invented putting meat between bread in 1762, will open at The Eatery in the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas this summer.
“We are looking forward to the grand opening of our newest location at the Palms Casino Resort,” said Robert Earl, chairman of Earl of Sandwich. “The success we’ve experienced in Las Vegas and our other locations has proven that the quality of our food and our dining experience will bring guests back time and time again.”
“We’re excited to welcome Earl of Sandwich to The Eatery at Palms this summer,” said Joseph A. Magliarditi, president of the Palms. “The addition is one of many exciting new venues coming this year.”
Earl of Sandwich features the freshest meats and cheeses, including Angus Beef roasted in-house daily, the freshest produce and signature artisan breads & desserts baked daily in-house.
Customers also can learn a little history while they eat signature sandwiches such as The Original 1762 and The Full Montagu, which draw their names and inspiration from John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich.
To wit, in 1762, John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwich, had his hands full, literally.
As First Sea Lord, he commanded the mighty British Navy, was a noted explorer, and also a dedicated gambler. This led to little time for food, so he came up with the ingenious idea of putting meat between two slices of bread. Thus in 1762, the sandwich was born and named after its inventor, the Earl of Sandwich.
Now, nearly 250 years later, John Montagu, the current 11th Earl of Sandwich and his family remain passionate about the world’s most popular quick food that carries their name. Together with restaurant entrepreneur Robert Earl, they have developed the sandwich everyone has been waiting for…The World’s Greatest Hot Sandwich®.
At Earl of Sandwich they don’t serve mere sandwiches. They serve THE Sandwich, like no other, made-to-order, using top-quality, fresh ingredients and served on artisan baked bread, made from a secret recipe. The sandwiches take approximately four minutes to make, from order-to-service.
There are 13 hot sandwiches available, all priced between $5.99-$6.49:
Earl of Sandwich will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Earl of Sandwich also offers a full line of freshly tossed salads, made-to-order wraps, signature soups, freshly baked desserts, freshly brewed Kona coffee, and a selection of beer and wine offerings.
Additionally, there is also a breakfast menu serving a choice of eight made-to-order hot breakfast sandwiches from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant offers take-away service as well.
