Failure to arrive at the Tournament area and check-in with a Tournament representative during the published Tournament hours will eliminate the Participants from entry into the Tournament. No makeup rounds will be given.
10. If a participant misses their table call time for any reason, they must go back to the end of the registration line and attempt to re-register (subject to the cutoff time above and any future remaining table(s)). Participants cannot join an active table once play has begun – no exceptions.
11. Bankrolls, bet minimums, and bet maximums are as follows:
Bankroll Min Bet Max Bet
$5,000 $200 None
12. During tournament play Participants also have the ability to utilize a "Palms Card".
13. A Palms Card is defined as the moment a participant chooses to discard one (1) of their current cards and replace it with another. When a Palms Card is utilized, the participant must take the next card dealt (even if the next card presents to be a worse hand).
a. It can be used to replace one (1) of the first two (2) cards, but once action has been taken on the hand, the Palms Card can only replace the most recent “hit” card. The player can then continue to have action on the hand once the card has been replaced. The replacement card will be the next card in the “shoe”.
b. If a player does not use their Palms Card, it is forfeited at the end of each round or when the player is eliminated. All Palms Card transactions are final, will not be refunded, are subject to identification requirements, and do not carry over from week to week.
14. “Palms Card” can be:
a. Purchased for $100 (one hundred dollars) before or during a Participant’s round of tournament play.
i. Palms Cards must be paid for in cash or live casino chips; no markers will be accepted.
b. Palms Cards can only be purchased and/or utilized once per round.
15. Participants who purchase a Palms Card will be entered into the “Palms Card Bonus Drawing” at the
conclusion of the tournament.
a. The potential winner of the Palms Card Bonus Drawing will receive a *minimum of $1,000 (one thousand dollars) in Single Use Promotional Chips.
i. *If Palms Card revenue exceeds $1,999 (one thousand and nine hundred ninety-nine dollars) for the tournament, the Palms Card Bonus Drawing prize winner will receive half of that total (rounded to the nearest $25 (twenty-five dollar) increment). If there are no Palms Card purchases, there will be no bonus drawing.
b. Potential Palms Card Bonus Drawing winner must be present to win and will be given two (2) minutes to claim their prize, or it will be forfeited, and another name will be drawn (up to 3 times).
c. At the end of the drawing, if the prize is not claimed it will be forfeited.
16. A Participant’s final tournament score is determined by their chip count at the end of their twelfth hand. If two or more Participants have the same score after twelve hands, the tied Participants will equally split the sum total of the applicable prizes. For example, if three (3) Participants tie for 2nd place, they would equally split the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place prizes. The next highest score would receive the 5th place prize amount. Splits will be rounded up to the next $25 increment.
17. Participants must have a score of at least 1 (one) to be eligible to receive a tournament prize. Tournament scores of 0 (zero) are not eligible for a prize. In the event there are less than 19 (nineteen) eligible scores, the remining prizes will not be awarded (i.e. 18 participants have a score of 1 or above all other participants have a score of 0. 1st - 18th Place will be awarded to the top 18 scores and 19th Place will not be awarded).
18. Tournament Chips are non-negotiable, have no value, and may not leave the table.
19. Tournament Chips may not be given to, received from, exchanged, borrowed, or loaned between Participants.
20. All hands are dealt from a six (6) deck shoe. Palms Casino Resort standard six (6) deck blackjack rules apply, with the exception that surrender bets are not permitted. Blackjack is paid 2 to 1 only for the first two cards dealt for each hand. Payouts will be rounded down to the nearest $100.
21. In the event a Participant is passed by after signaling that they wanted a hit card and the dealer’s hand has not been acted on, the dealer hits out all the remaining Participants’ hands and then returns to the missed Participant before acting on the dealer’s own hand.
22. If cards are dealt out of order and no Participants have acted on their hands, all hands are dead, and all bets remain the same.
23. If the dealer acts upon a handout of sequence, the dealer will finish out that Participant’s hand completely
then go back to the marker and continue in the proper sequence.
24. No cards will be backed up under any circumstances.
25. Participants’ cards are dealt face up. Participants may not touch their cards and play only one (1) spot.
26. All bets and decisions must be made in sequence beginning with the first (1st) hand.
27. With the exception of insurance bets, all bets must follow the Bankroll Chart set forth in Rule 11.
28. Dealers may only break down bets in order to pay out bets.
29. Participants may not change, or touch bets placed in the betting circle.
30. Participants are not required to declare bets to the dealer or other Participants.
31. Participants must make bets in a timely manner. Tournament Officials reserve the right to intervene if they determine a Participant is impeding the progress of the Tournament. Tournament Officials may, at their discretion, impose a one (1) minute time limit for Participants to act. A Participant who fails to make a bet within the one (1) minute limit, if imposed, must place the minimum bet for the round and the dealer will proceed to the next Participant.
32. If the dealer’s exposed card is an Ace, the dealer offers insurance. When the dealer calls for insurance, each Participant must, in their turn, clearly wave off with their hands if they do not want insurance or to make an insurance bet. A Participant’s decision to decline or take insurance is final. “Even money” declarations are prohibited. Participants holding a natural blackjack against the dealer’s Ace may make insurance bets for up to half the amount of their original wager, provided they have enough remaining chips in their bankroll. Partial insurance is allowed.
33. Each Participant must give a hand signal to indicate the hand is complete. After a Participant gives the signal, the hand is final. Participants must make clear hand signals for all actions.
34. Participants must play every hand to be eligible for the prize pool. When a Participant’s remaining bankroll amount drops below the minimum bet required for the next hand, the Participant is completely eliminated from the Tournament and prize pool.
