KEM's lifelong passion for music, rooted in his childhood playing piano at his grandfather’s church, has been the driving force behind his illustrious career as an internationally renowned R&B singer/songwriter. Despite achieving significant success with one Platinum album (KEM: ALBUM II), two Gold albums (KEMISTRY; INTIMACY), three GRAMMY nominations, and five #1 hit singles, KEM's journey has not been without challenges. His battle with homelessness and addiction in his early life profoundly shaped his music and led to his reputation as "R&B’s Best Kept Secret." His determination and faith culminated in the release of his debut album, KEMISTRY, which he initially sold out of the trunk of his car before signing a five-record deal with Motown Records.
KEM's subsequent albums, including KEM ALBUM II and INTIMACY, further solidified his place in the music industry, with numerous chart-topping singles and accolades. Beyond his musical achievements, KEM founded Mack & Third, Inc., a nonprofit organization addressing homelessness, hunger, and other social issues. His 'Mack & Third' event in Detroit has provided thousands of meals and collected substantial donations for the homeless. KEM's versatility is evident in his Christmas album, WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS, and its deluxe edition featuring collaborations with Patti LaBelle and Ronald Isley. His fourth studio album, PROMISE TO LOVE, debuted at #3 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart, showcasing KEM's enduring appeal and earning him another GRAMMY nomination. With over 2.9 million albums sold, KEM continues to be a prominent figure in the R&B genre and an advocate for social causes.
